Writer: Mark Millar
Artist: Steve McNiven
Millar and McNiven did an excellent job in this issue. It took a while for this fourth and final issue to come out, but it was worth the wait. As you all should know this four issue comic series is going to be turned into a movie. There has been no release date for the movie yet, no actors have been cast yet. So I'll update you on that as soon as I know.
Ever since Nemesis left Japan and came to America he has been just plain evil and crazy. He's been nothing but a nuisance to Chief Marrow. That probably does not explain him enough since in the past four issues he has killed thousand of innocent people, blown up a prison, captured the Chief's children and pretty much abolished his family. This guy is most likely the most maniacal super villain that you will ever read.
So in this issue Chief Marrow thinks that he knows everything about Nemesis. So he and his crew go in a helicopter heading to where they think Nemesis's hiding place is. When they get there, part of Marrow's crew is outside of Nemesis hideout and the other part of his crew are inside the house looking to kill Nemesis. They don't get that, they are confronted with a fat man tied to a bed and he has a bomb strapped onto himself. BOOM!! The house explodes and Marrow falls to the ground losing consciousness. He wakes up to find out that he is in the Oval Office with Nemesis who admits that Stuart (Marrow's best police officer) was an inside man for the past eight years. Nemesis then goes on a big lecture on how he is not a guy seeking revenge for his deceased parents, he is just a bored rich guy who likes to bring convulsion and misery to his targets.
Then Nemesis reveals his surprise to Marrow. It's his wife and the President of the United States strapped to bomb vest, he has to decide who lives or dies in 30 seconds. This President is very quick witted, instead of him crying like a little baby, he goes and gets close to Nemesis. Marrow sets off the Presidents bomb vest so he can kill Nemesis. You may be thinking that was kind of corny but it was actually really cool seeing that President being very brave. Nemesis survived the explosion, I bet you weren't expecting that. Well Marrow and Nemesis have there final fight between them. Nemesis gets shot in the head, while Marrow gets shot in the chest. Pretty much at the end of the comic we see that Marrow survived and that Nemesis is dead :( . There is a bit more to the story, but I do not want to spoil it for you. Just to let you all know there will be a Nemesis sequel, which I am really excited for.
Final Verdict: This last issue was amazing. It is a must read. I recommend that you either wait for the trade (Volume 1) or get each individual issue NOW, you will not regret it. Miller's writing in this issue is excellent. McNiven art is gorgeous to look at. I cannot wait to see this being turned into a movie. I give this 10 out of 10
