OMG I havent been on here in a while. How are you world? Miss me? I hope you did. Last time I type up a post was February. Man time has flyed by so fast. I'm so happy that summer is here. I love the sun! I took a family cruise to from Seattle to Alaska and Canada, which was AMAZING!! Loved it! Seattle reminds me of San Francisco but more seafoody, haha. Also, being in the Space Needle was awesome! At the top of the needle it rained very hard and like an hour later when I wasn't on the needle it was sunny o.O (questioning the sky). I got to check out two unique museums. One was all about current and old music and movie and TV show popstars, celebrities, the real props used in the TV shows like Doctor Who and Star Trek! Which was nerdtastic if I do say so myself! I wanted to live in that museum, that's how much I enjoyed it! The second museum was an entire glass exhibit! So many pretty colors in all shapes and sizes! You had to be there to appreciate it. Fun fact they had this exhibit in San Francisco! If you really want to get away from everything to everyone in your life, Alaska is the place to go. It's so isolated there, not much to do from what I saw, but yet peaceful and beautiful. Canada was a very old classy country aka Victoria, which is where I cruised to. It was very "old classy" indeed. With the houses being built as far back as the 1800's to a tree that inspired Walt Disney. It's a country where I think I can see myself living at. For how long, I do not know. Within 45 minutes out of the Seattle port, my cruise ship got on fire! It was a bit intense, until the captain of the ship told us the fire was in the boiling room and that we had to go back to Seattle to get the US Coast Guard to check the ship. Overall, I had to stay overnight again in Seattle and our cruise ship made National news! My friends from the east bay to my family in the east coast heard about my cruise ship getting on fire. I guess it was a slow news day, haha. Our first stop was Glacier Bay. The sun was as sunny as ever, the water was clear and had a green/blue color to it, you could see pieces of ice floating on the surface of the water, there was snow at the top of each glacier I saw (there's rarely any snow in California) and you could see glaciers as far as the eye could see. The next day we finally got going to Juneau, Alaska and it was windy and rainy and overcast, yet breath-taking. Later on when my family and I went hiking in the hills the sun finally came out! The wildlife and nature of Juneau was gorgeous, seeing the water falls and glaciers was cool. The next destination was Ketchikan, Alaska. It was pretty much like Juneau, but this time I got to see many bald eagles and brown bears and a banana slug (Santa Cruz you found me!) Went on a nature hike and the wildlife there was magnificent! I got to learn about the tribes and clans that still exist in Ketchikan and Juneau so much that I actually met a woman who is in a tribe in Juneau, which was very fascinating. At long last, I finally made it to Victoria the capital of British Columbia in Canada! Good ol Canada eh?! Just like everywhere else, it was very cloudy. Yet I had a great time with my family and learned a lot about the history, culture, people and experienced a bit of the city life! I wanted to spend so much more time in the downtown area of Victoria, it was so cool! There was a live music performance right next to the water and I got to go check out a famous chocolate store and the Irish pub that I went into took my breath away (it had a live band playing groovy beats!) and explored the Empress Hotel which was very superdooper fancy! Some stranger in a car talked to my twin brother and asked him for directions, liked he lived here in Victoria, I found that hilarious. To the beer and food being delicious, for the sightseeing in Seattle, Alaska and Canada and having great conversations with the other cruisers on the cruise, and all the activities I did on the cruise and the Canadians and Alaskans that I talked to, my family vacation was priceless.
